Pocatello’s new family-friendly fishing pond and nature area. Enjoy walking paved paths along the river or fish the well-stocked pond. There is even a rope swing on the river if you want to get wet, just head south on the first fork in the path. A large pavilion near the pond is in the future plans of this nature area as well as other improvements.
Edson Fichter Pond has plenty rainbow trout ranging from 6 inches to 6 pounds and it is re-stocked with fish multiple times a month. Early morning and late evening are the best times to fish this pond, and I always do well here with my Tenkara fly pole.

Tenkara is simple to learn, catches fish with little experience, and is a blast to do even when the fish are small. Quite of few larger fish are usually stocked in the pond in the fall
STOCKING UPDATE 10/15/2013: They have started stocking the pond again this fall, and some of them are quite large. The parking lot is still closed so you have to park on the road and walk around the parking lot to get to the pond.
Update 1/15/2014 – Ice is still thick on the pond for Ice Fishing.
Someone told me that the pond was closed right now 9/21/2014. Would you happen to know when it might be open to fish again?
They killed all the trash fish last weekend and they said they would stock the pond the 1st week of October, that is all I know.
Just got another update from F&G, it may possibly be stocked Saturday or next Monday.
Emailed the Fish & Game and they said the week of 13th-17th is when they will be stocking. That sucks! we have to wait another week.
10\16/2014 – They Have New Stocked the Pond with 500 small rainbows today. They are planning on stocking it more next week. Get your kids out and catch a few before it gets to cold.
